These are the dogsports we enjoy...

Agility

Finns favourite sport, I started to train him in 2009 May, and our first competition was in April, 2010. We've levelled up to grade A2 since that, and we take part in competitions quite regulary- because it is fun!

K9-Freestyle or Dog-Dancing

After I bought my first Border Collie in 2003 I quickly realized that I need a sport that will keep his mind busy so he won't demolish my garden, and so our Dog-Dancing career with my dear Nidhogg started in 2005. I love this sport for its versatility, and because I think its one of the most dog-centric sports, so it was obvious that Finn will be trained for this from the second he set his foot into my home. Finn learns new trick very quickly, and his peculiar, jaunty way of moving (like he's dancing, really) is very well suited to this sport. If only he would stop making comments on competitions...

Herding

What would a Border Collie normally do? Herd sheep of course! So who would be able to resist the temptation of trying this sport with a Border Collie? It's not likely we'll win the Continental anytime soon, neither it is our aim, but it's a great way of spending time, so, from time to time we sit into the car and set off to visit a training place.

Frisbee

Another favourite of Finns, he enjoys both the freestyle frisbee and the distance version, as long as I throw it he doesn't mind how he has to catch it. This is a game we play almost every day, but we don't compete because the lack of time, and moreover I suck at throwing that damn disc.

Sledding

I used to compete at sleddog races between 2003 and 2007 with my samoyed team, and since they have been retired I spend the snowy days of winter hiking with my Border Collies. Finn, together with Nidhogg made a great team, the two of them were actually faster than my four dog samoyed racing team. I guess with the loss of Nidhogg our sledding days are over, maybe I'll try ski-jöring now.
