Finn got exc.2., res.CAC in a strong open class and Pippa got a very good
I shouldn't repeat myself over and over again but I'm not a great big fan of dogshows. The question...Read Full Post »

We gained 3rd place with Pippa in J2 with a not so nice clean run (slight misunderstanding between us), and she did great in the open agility too, although the latter resulted in a Dq.

Our first competition in A2 with Pippa resulted in a clean run with 1st place in agility, and clean run and 1st place in J2 too. Hats off to little Pippa, she was awesome!

Ok, I'm so impressed with Pippa's performance I can't quite find the words to describe my feelings. OMG, she is just amazing! With only 4 competitions in A1 she said goodbye to this category in style, and I wonder how far can we get together? It was an absolute joy to run with her, especially at this last competition, she is so easy to handle, and compensated for handling mistakes so well! Maybe I should not make any if I want to keep up with her!
I also competed with Mr Finn, but he wa...Read Full Post »

It might be too early to celebrate, but it seems we finally nailed running contacts with Pippa, at least at our last competition she had 3/3 on both the dogwalk and A-frame, which is better than anything I expected. I started to train her RC when she was about 9 months old if I remember correctly, but I was very inconsistent with the trainings due to lack of equipment. I used the method described perfectly on Silvia Trkman's DVD, and I had to admit I was on the verge of giving up several time...Read Full Post »

I was asked again by the Hunarian Samoyed Club to interpret at their clubshow which took place at the Budapest International Dogshow (CACIB), so I entered the Border Collies there. The first surprise came in the morning when it turned out that there was a change in judge, so instead of a judge from Norway we got a Hungarian one. Hm. Finn was placed second and the judge explained to me that he preferred the other male with more coat and more substance (mind you, Finn isn't a light dog either),...Read Full Post »

Finn was DNA tested for IGS and NCL by genomia, and he is genetically free for both diseases.
I started to compete with Pippa in A1 (well, actually it wasn't her first competition, I entered her for the EO and WC qualifiers, but that doesn't count ), we got a fifth place in A1 agility with 5 faults. I love to run with her, she is very easy to handle, light and fast, but I have to admit I'm very disappointed with the dogwalk contact :\ We have been struggling with running c...Read Full Post »

I started working in September so nowadays I'm griveously short on time, but the autumn break has arrived and I decided to celebrate it by taking part in an agility competition. Unfortunately Finn knocked down the viaduct and was placed only 7th in A3, and was DQd in the other run, but we had a great time anyway.

Instead of spending my precious time with relaxing activities I entered my dear border collies to the local national dogshow. Good part is that they both gained CAC title in their classes and behaved brilliantly- I mean, even Finn- who otherwise despises dogshows- was posing like he did that all his life.
