Komárom CACIB

Finn got exc.2., res.CAC in a strong open class and Pippa got a very good :(

I shouldn't repeat myself over and over again but I'm not a great big fan of dogshows. The question raises of course then why do I attend to them (I seldom do), but I think that a show bred studdog has to be shown at least for a couple of times, and as for Pippa- well, it is very funny to show her, because she loves it, and she is totally into posing and showing the world that she is beautiful.

The open dog class was quite strong I think with five males of good quality, and actually probably this will be my favourite res.CAC of all the ones Finn won over the years. He did really great, behaved like a champ, and I'm especially proud that I managed to teach him a decent free stacking, because he is not a dogshow lover either :D When the judge told me he is in very good condition, I told her that he is an agility dog to recieve the following comment: 'It's nice to see an agility dog that look like a Border Collie.' That was the moment I started to suspect that maybe she won't like Pippa. No offense by the way, this was her opinion, my personal opinion is that border collie is a very versatile, diverse breed and as long as they are healthy and have some basic qualities typical for the breed, I'm OK with any of them. I choose to keep show BCs because I'm completly satisfied with them and I like them as they are, but this doesn't mean I cannot accept that other people prefer other types, and I really hate when people are bashing each other over somthing as trivial as this. Get a life everyone!

As for my little girl, I knew that sooner or later a show judge will throw her out with a red ribbon, I'm actually surprised it didn't happen sooner. She doesn't look like a typical show BC at all, and I'm sorry, but for this I'm glad. The judge said that she is giving her a very good today because her head is to narrow for her taste, I shrugged, really. She looks like a border collie you could imagine running up and down on the hills of Scotland, that's what is important for me, and that she has the speed, stamina and brain of a real one too.

Anyway it was a pleasent trip to Komárom with Judit and Enikő, and also Pippa's auntie Nessie (Bordermania Dragonfly took CACIB, and her half-sister Bordermania Gaelic Charm 'Sally' was res.CAC).
